1.  Bell Ringer :
Go to wdtv.com or wboy.com and research the election results for Barbour County and the state of WV.  Summarize the results and the voter turn out.  Were more winners democratic or republican?  Were more male or female?  Were there more incumbents that won or not?  Answer why are elections important?  Why do we have elections?  Why do you think it is important to vote? 

Philip Ferguson won sheriff, Danny wagner a publican won house of delegates, and Tim McDaniel also a repblican for county commission.











2.  Assignment:  
Go to icvics.org and play the assigned game called cast your vote ( https://www.icivics.org/games/cast-your-vote ).  As you play take notes on your blog about the issues addressed.  Make sure you copy and paste the answer you selected as that most closely to your views.  Then select which candidate you voted for and tell me why in 2-3 sentences.  It will take 15 minutes to play the game so you will have plenty of time to complete the summaries.
